Impala Pale Ale

Cruising to Rotto with an esky full of ice under a January sun. Backyard one-handers at your mate’s Australia Day pool party. Kicking back in a turkey coma on Christmas Day at Aunty Steph’s.

Long, sun-filled days are made for Impala Pale Ale, our flagship session beer gracefully balancing malt and hop characters with mid ABV for high drinkability. One sip and you’ll be can-in-hand the entire day. It’s frisky, frothy heaven – just don’t mistake it for those crystal-clear filtered summer drops that strip away the natural goodness. To us, a pale ale should be a full-bodied brew.

The Impala goes back to its roots – dreamily cloudy, slightly bitter on the palette and unfiltered, the traditional way, with Sorachi Ace balanced with Mosaic hops to release deliciously fruity aromas of summer melon and citrus.

We’re not going to lie – we couldn’t love our own child as much as we love this pale ale. There, we said it. Think what you will. All we know is you’ll want to cradle that Impala in your arms with the loving look of a mother gazelle.

Freddy’s Pilsner

You won’t see any “Cheeky Badger’s Knees” or “Weasel’s Woolly Mittens” on the label of this timeless brew. We’ve simply named it in honour of a very special man we hold dear. And like the deep German tradition that inspired its creation, his story must be told to live on.

It was way back in 1987 Germany when a 50-year-old Freddy decided he wanted a better life for his wife and three teenage kids. So he asked where the hottest place in Australia was, and before they knew it, they’d packed up their lives and made a fresh, yet sweaty start in Perth.

True to the German stereotype, beer held a very special place in Freddy’s heart. We’re talking real beer, full bodied and full of flavour, brewed the traditional way. Somehow the recipe had been lost in translation down under!

That’s when an idea struck – why not import the best beers from around the globe, to one of the hottest places on earth, with people who love a drink? Freddy immediately bought into Beverage Australia knowing the beer would speak for itself (which was handy, because he couldn’t speak a lick of English!). And as they say, the rest is history.

In loving memory of the great man, we’ve dug deep into German tradition to brew a very special toast to Freddy. While his love for beer had no bounds, he always returned to the purest, sitting down at dinner each night with a glass of his favourite pilsner. Using German Perle Bittering Hops complemented by Tettnanger Aroma Hops, we’ve created a deeply satisfying European-style craft beer in its truest form.

Officially this is Freddy’s Pilsner. But we’ve brewed it for everyone. Enjoy.

Magnum Kölsch

Bang. That’s the sound of us nailing this brew.

As one of only a handful of traditional German ales, Kölsch is Germany’s answer to the British Pale Ale, subtle and delicate, light in both body and appearance. No preservatives, froth stabilisers, or flavour enhancers. Just pure, frothy goodness in its most gloriously unashamed nakedness.

We’ve named this drop after the legendary Magnum hops used – a clean, extremely neutral ingredient adding hoppy bitterness without that grassy tinge better suited to the palettes of grazing cattle. Then, to balance a lack of distinct aroma characteristics we’ve added Hersbrucker, the traditional Bavarian aromatic hop.

Rounded off with premium ingredients like high-grade malt and a rare German ale yeast, this is a brew not to be messed with – a clear, all-barley pale ale bursting with hoppy deliciousness, colour and flavour, all softened by a gentle floral aroma.
